Black Saturn Magic

I've been bumping this daily since its release! Leave it to Saturn Never Sleeps to challenge and inspire you to dig deeper into the music and into creating magic thru experimentation. I'm addicted to the track BLACK! Lord have mercy...
From SNS:
New release! A 3 song ep and taste of our full record set for release in early January. Black is a re-edit of “Lightning Bug” off Soul Litchfield’s Headnodic Acrobatics Vol. 1. Stuck in You is a 2 min in and out track in the tradition of early 90s hip hop sound, and Galaga, a tribute to the video game of the same name. Black will be available on Bleep in a month or you can get it now below.

Coultrain on wax!

I first met Coultrain years ago, when I was new to Brooklyn. He was sitting, strumming a guitar at a party in Crown Heights, just looking like he was about to blow up. He had the look in his eye. Soon after, I begun to get my hands on his music, and I've never been disappointed. He was most recently known for his work with PPP, but will be dropping his solo full-length soon! First, look out for his 2 singles "The Wanderer" and "Balancing Act" in both 7" vinyl and digital release FEB 23rd on Recordbreakin Music. Check out teaser site HERE (where u can see lyrics and have a listen to the singles!).
Here is a little snippit I found on The Mint Collective.

Beauty : Now

King Britt will soon be dropping what he calls his "last conventional dance album" before he moves over to the even more experimental side. Personally, I don't think I could ever get tired of new music by King, so I'll take the dance, experimental and everything between. The world needs more music like this that keeps your mind, body and soul moving to new levels. Enjoy this little taste of whats soon to come, by grabbing the track titled NOW, with the lovely Astrid Suryanto on vocals. GRAB IT HERE: SNS!

The full album, The Intricate Beauty, drops this spring on Nervous/FiveSix. More info here.

GeogiaAnneMuldrow on FRESH SELECTS!!

It seems FRESH SELECTS gets everything first.
Check out the newest on the site today:
>>>"Got another world debut for you guys today - this time its yet another from the multi-talented, Georgia Anne Muldrow, with an exclusive sneak peak into her upcoming solo album, Umsindo. The album is a dedication to the African ancestors (Umsindo means “sound” in Zulu) and the song I have for you today, entitled “E.S.P.,” is a heartfelt tribute to her partner Dudley Perkins’ daughter, and the ancestors that live on within her. Musically, Umsindo is a return-to-form of sorts, for those of us who were lucky enough to hear Georgia’s pre-Worthnothings demo/sampler - this is her closest work to that since then, but with all the added growth and upped production skills to boot." <<FRESHSELECTS.NET

BLOGS we love::...AFRIPOP! Mag

Check out AFRIPOP, the cool blog that our former TRACE colleague and good friend, singer/writer Yolanda Sangweni has started last year (I actually did the mag's logo below). It is one of the best resources for the freshest cultural exports from Africa and the African diaspora.

About Afripop ::: Afripop is about highlighting the freshest and brightest new talents in African music, African hip hop, jazz, fashion, film and youth culture overall. Really, the mission is to create a safe space for diasporic Africans to get to know and celebrate each other. We’d love to hear from you here.
