Friends We Love has been a self-funded short documentary series since inception and as many of you know, producing content of this caliber is costly and time consuming. Fortunately our passion and belief in the series has fueled our enthusiasm and endless work days, but in order to create a sustainable production, we need to raise some funds. We have therefore organized the FWL Festival. The first Friends We Love Festival series will converge the worlds of music, film and visual art presented by the Sly Art vs Robot City Soho loft space on January 30th. It will serve as a launch party for the Friends We Love Mixed CD, which was recently released by the Japanese label Toy's Factory. We have six confirmed live performances and some of New York's most sought after DJs. The Soho loft walls will exhibit artwork by The Neocons - a never-before-seen collaboration of three of the City's best-known street artists who will also be creating live pieces throughout the night. All proceeds from the festival will be used for future Friends We Love video productions.
Thanks for reading & see you on Friday!

PPP's highly anticipated second album, Abundance, IN STORES NOW!!!!
This incredible record has been on heavy rotation in my cd player since the summer...and now it's finally available to the public! PPP fans who have been waiting for a new record since their banging debut release Triple P are in for a treat. The new sound couldn't be more fresh and yet musically as complex and ferocious as music used to be back in the heydays of soul and funk..."Abundance sums up everything; our growth since Triple P, the love and encouragement to make this record that weve gotten from our fans, it means a lot of things," explains band-leader and producer Waajeed. "It picks up where the first left- off. Triple P was a great start, but this sophomore album is on another level. It's more involved and focusedit's Electro Soul!"It is what "real, feel good music" with a lot of soul supposed to sound like. PPP's ABUNDANCE takes their Detroit Motown-legacy to new heights creating a classic sound that is definitely on pair with the old masters. This album is huge and hearing it live might just change your life forever...if you were at the after-party of last summer's BROOKLYN Hip-Hop festival, then you know what I am talking about, but in any case make sure to catch the crew at their live shows.
Abundance features an all new cast of up-and-coming singers including the album's main songwriter, Coultrain, and leading ladies, Karma Stewart & Jamila Raegan (check my earlier feature on them), plus the return of PPP vet, Neco Redd. My two favorite tracks Luv Affair and Pigeon Hole are perfect examples of the vast talent that this new line-up represents. You can buy Abundance now through Ubiquity Records & Amazon, and iTunes. Support artists & good music by actually purchasing....
And there's still a lot more in store from Waajeed, PPP & the whole Bling47 crew - so be sure to stay tuned to www.myspace.com/

By now, it seems the word has spread from coast to coast, and beyond, about the ever growing Wonder-Full party. Brought to us by Keistar, Dj Spinna and Bobbito have brought joy to so may of us. This week, they head to Europe to share the love!
“WONDER-Full™ - Tribute To The Wonder Of Stevie” a concept created by KeiStar Productions honoring the legendary genius Stevie Wonder...features DJs Spinna & Bobbito, who back in 1999, were asked to spin at a party which paid tribute to Stevie Wonder’s “Songs In The Key Of Life” album. There, the duo and KeiStar quickly realized they all had a mutual love for ‘Little Stevie's’ music and judging from the atmosphere on the dance floor that night, we knew we had a good thing going.
DJ Spinna and Bobbito have collaborated and compiled tribute CDs of Stevie Wonder’s music titled…‘The Wonder Of Stevie’, ‘Wonder Wrote It’. DJ Spinna has remixed the song “My Love Is On Fire” from Stevie’s recent album “A Time To Love”. Take a listen online...
KeiStar Productions has successfully produced this event since 1999 starting in its hometown of New York City. From then on KeiStar Productions has traveled nationally and internationally with WONDER-Full™ to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, London, Japan, and Amsterdam.
Stevie Wonder has expressed his gratitude by calling into the party in 2003 and 2004, addressing the crowd and has made a special appearance at KeiStar Production’s recent WONDER-Full™ tribute/concert after party last year (November 2007) where he delivered a heart felt speech to the audience. On June 14th of this year Stevie Wonder treated KeiStar's WONDER-Full™ audience to a 'mini' live concert! See clip below!

Although I decided to stay in BK for the big day, I stayed glued to CNN watching as the moment unfolded. Warm on my futon with my fam....
We have a lot of work to do in this country and it's time to get serious.. But first, can I just say, to hear Etta James (Well ...Beyonce singing Etta) as the opening song for the dance @ the "Ball" was almost as moving as the speech? I love me some Etta, so seeing our President get down to that, sealed the deal.
Lets get to work people. It starts within.

So mama wants another copy!
